We finally got some official pics and a few details about Mitsubishi’s Eclipse Ralliart Concept that we posted on earlier. The Eclipse Ralliart is a 2006 model beefed up with a turbocharged 4G63 and all-wheel drive setup sourced from the Lancer Evo, as well as a custom air intake and other HKS performance parts. We’ll send Eric over to Mitsubishi’s display to get some more info on the Eclipse Ralliart in the coming days.

Two words: YEE HAW! I'm not even going to try and contain my enthusiasm for this car, because that would be like asking me to lie under oath. Yes, it's that serious. And this is one serious car. I don't think, in the duration of my time as an automotive journalist, that I've ever run, and I mean run from my car to my desk in order to get onto the laptop and write down my thoughts. I was literally shaking, that's how excited I was. I know, you must think I am crazy, and you wouldn't be the first, but the new Eclipse is just that good. And I've officially given myself a headache!

Maxim magazine, the highest-circulation men's lifestyle magazine in the United States, has chosen the all-new 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse as "GT of the Year" in its fourth annual "Cars of the Year" issue. The Eclipse was selected from a field of more than 45 vehicles reviewed by the magazine and will be featured with nine other winning vehicles in the November 2005 issue of Maxim, scheduled to hit newsstands on October 15.

Thanks to the Eclipse, sales of Mitsubishi cars were up 3.2% for September. Overall, sales were down 2.5% due to drops in the Montero and Outlander SUVs, but there was also some good news with the Endeavor, which posted a 29.2% sales increase. Mitsubishi also managed to post 41 unit sales of the new Raider pickup in the last few days of the month. For the year Mitsubishi is down 27.7%, but with a sales increase last month and a narrow loss this month, fortunes are looking up.
